Sweet tour action. Be sure to tell the Poison Idea guys they're responsible for one of the few good things Machine Head ever did ("Alan's On Fire" cover).

So... as Greg, SL and Dave Grohl go some way back through the Seattle scene - you guys going to open for Foo Fighters someday? If Hot Snakes can enjoy Metallica's generosity... besides the fans would LOVE it if you all strip down to your jocks again! ;)

*NB* Before anyone gets their Lambgoat on up in here - it was '92, I was 13: Nirvana meant a lot to me. Interestingly & weirdly, they manipulated major labels into releasing great albums by great bands: Helmet, Unsane, Melvins, Jesus Lizard etc. Divine madness of the 90s that I miss. And having fallen for those guys, material from "Bleach" and "Incesticide" Goes Down Smoov.

And for a "superstar" or whatever, Grohl seems like a decent guy. Great New Wave-type drummer; the albums he pounded on by QotSA and Killing Joke RIP.

Mr. Justin Garcia wants you to bring Poison Idea with you to the Barbary, or you will not have access to his floor!

Haaaaaa, Justin! Fuck dude, I don't think Jerry A could fit in our van even if we could kidnap him for the extra 3 weeks. But thou and thine shalt definitely be on our list for the Barbary show and would love the familiar comforts of your floor and waking up to your kid pointing at Andrus and going "whassat?". You guys rule. It wouldn't be Philly without a) getting supperrobbed or b) seeing you.

And Nick. Yes! Much as I can't really get into Foo Fighters (but theres some I like), Grohl is consistently untouchable, especially as a drummer. His drumming on Songs For The Deaf is just flawless and nuts. And speaking of Melvins and Unsane, we're doing a whole 10 day tour next week around one night in NYC when they're playing together. I've seen both but in NYC a Melvins/Unsane show should be some wild shit. Hoping to crack my head open stagediving to Lizzy. ("SEEENNND-ME-A-BLACK-OOOOONE!...")

*my old band Countdown to Oblivion used to do Alan's On Fire. Fuckin' rad song. You're gonna love the ltd release show cover of Rotten Thing To Say, then.

Ha, Chris Justin sounds like he's in no mood to fool around!

Cool, am trained for the new BL when it drops. And not to make Jerry un-jolly, but I wonder why "Feel the Darkness" hasn't been rereleased on an indie on compact disc; same thing with old Crossed out stuff.
>> Follow me, here: I'm all ok with the "authenticity" of vinyl... but the reality is that my old player has been fragged for a while; and it would cost a packet to replace it. Catch 22 of independent music: all those eps, singles, collectibles for discount - fuck to get hold of them down here is like drawing blood. Just a thought.

As a kid, Melvins struck, and still do, as a band that walk that line between "genius" and "idiocy" - and bless 'em for it. One album can Rock your world, the next will make you think "What the fuck did I just pay for?!" With respect as we're talking about PI, the first album by Venomous Concept with Buzz is still my favourite. 'Round its release, I got fully up to speed with other bands like the mighty Pig Destroyer and Cursed - the Best times. *No bullshit* - I ordered "I" and "Gra Varld/Svarta Tankar" from Amazon at the same time; both arrived sealed; GV smelt like some crusty had stored it in an ashtray. That album is a straight-up Swedish classic... but I could NOT wear out "I." And the rest is History. That's no smoke blown up yer skirt, Sweetheart.

>>Actually, if I can rob a bank to bring Burning Love here to rock Cape Town - one "name" band in the mainstream that you'd Kill It with... Turbonegro. That would rule.

Enjoy all these shows, Chris. A few years back on the Mastodon forum (when the electronic populace sucked less), a bro of theirs "HASHTHRASH" was chatting that Cursed were some sweet Canadians. And " most if not all your favourite bands are over here. You should just fuckin' Move."

He may have had a point...

... and as Canada seems to have a surplus of heavy bands that kick ass, what the Hell is the secret? Compulsory high school music ed. with setworks by Slaughter and Dayglo Abortions?
